Our Story

Designer Carpets began in the aftermath of Hurricane Hugo, when builder Harold Noland had to source carpet directly from Dalton, GA due to local shortages. Out of this need, his wife Chris Noland founded Designer Carpets, Inc. in 1996, starting from a small showroom on Johns Island that served interior designers and custom home builders on Kiawah and Seabrook Islands.

In 2004, current owner Trey Davis purchased the business and moved it to its current location. He expanded the product line to include hardwood, LVT, rubber flooring, and more—while continuing to offer unique, high-end wool, sisal, and seagrass carpets. We also carry a full range of synthetic carpets, from rental grade to luxury nylon.

Today, we serve the entire Charleston and Lowcountry region, handling both residential and commercial projects. From hardwood refinishing and custom stair runners to hotel renovations and office spaces, our team delivers expert service and premium products.

We’re proud to support our community through projects with Sea Islands Habitat for Humanity, Save the Light, The Citadel, and local school and athletic programs.
